
Varanasi: The much-awaited ropeway project in Kashi is moving ahead at a rapid pace. On Sunday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inspected the construction work at the Godowlia Ropeway Station and directed officials to ensure that the station is fully completed by December 12, 2025.

Cantt to Rath Yatra Section Already Completed
According to officials, the stretch from Cantt Railway Station to Rath Yatra has already been completed. Trial runs have also begun on this section. The final stage of the project now focuses on the construction of Godowlia Station, where work is in full swing. Authorities have assured that every effort is being made to finish before the set deadline so that pilgrims and tourists can enjoy this modern transport facility soon.
Relief from Traffic Congestion
Varanasi is one of the most visited spiritual and cultural destinations in India, attracting millions of pilgrims and tourists from around the world. The city’s narrow lanes and heavy crowds often lead to severe traffic congestion. Once operational, the ropeway will provide direct connectivity from Cantt Station to Godowlia and Kashi Vishwanath Dham, significantly reducing traffic pressure and making travel more convenient.
